Our History We go way back
One day in 1996, Mike, Barry and Todd (while suffering a disappointing dining experience in a local Houston restaurant) began thinking that they could run a restaurant better than the one they were eating in.
They began making a list of things they would like to see in a restaurant, including some very simple ideas:
Great home-cooked southern Louisiana food
(nothing premade and served from a bag)
Quick service in a casual and fun environment reminiscent of Southern Louisiana
(no waiting in a lobby or smoky bar for a table)
No waiters to ruin your dining experience
(from waiting too long on your check when you are ready to leave) and
A bar where you could relax with your friends
while enjoying a frozen Hurricane.

This “list”, along with money they scraped together, helped build the first
Boudreaux’s Cajun Kitchen in 1999
Since that day, Boudreaux’s has maintained its commitment to making food from scratch that fuses popular items with a southern Louisiana flair.
Exciting news! On March 28th, 2023, Amergent Hospitality Group, a renowned player in the hospitality industry, proudly announced their latest addition to their ever-growing family.
As they welcome Boudreaux’s Cajun Kitchen into their fold, Amergent Hospitality Group eagerly anticipates sharing the rich flavors and vibrant culture of Cajun cuisine with their valued patrons.

We continue to hand make our own rouxs, stocks, salad dressings, mayonnaise, sauces, breading and desserts — always keeping in mind that our guest deserve the best and freshest products.
Through this commitment to quality, we have built a loyal following of guests (many have become like family) throughout Houston. These loyal guests and their willingness to spread the word about the home cooked wonders of Boudreaux’s Cajun Kitchen have enabled us to grow.
We're Popular But you can sit with us
Because of our popularity, we sometimes get long lines. However, don’t let this discourage you as on most occasions we will get you through the line and to your table within 15 minutes. Your food will arrive about 10 minutes later. Then when you are ready to leave, just get up and exit. (Although leaving may be difficult, as you will be full from our generous portions of delicious homemade food!)
